Jock Arnold Torres, age 53, of League City passed away Saturday morning the 4th of November, 2017.  A graduate of Cy-Fair High School, he later earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.   Having held a lifelong interest in Science Fiction it was a natural fit for Jock to work at the Johnson Space Center in support of the Space Shuttle guidance system's Inertial Measurement Units until the close of the Shuttle program.  He later transitioned to the Specialty Tank Services group of Stronghold Ltd. acquiring the nickname "Walowitz" for a time due to his past space industry experience.  An additional interest of Jock's was Salsa dancing.  He started with beginner lessons and before long could be seen dancing in the local venues and attending Houston area Salsa Congress events.  Jock will be forever remembered for his big smile, kind nature, and the love he held for his family, friends, and relatives.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleofas and Dolores Perkins; and Carlos and Elena Torres.  Jock is survived by his loving parents Roque and Ida Torres; brother Rock and wife Nora; brother Kenneth; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The Torres family would like to thank Jock's extended Johnson Space Center and Stronghold Ltd. families for the love, friendship, and support they provided Jock over the years and especially during the last 6 months of his life.  The Torres family would also like to thank their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.  Pallbearers:  Edward Perkins, Marco Cabrera, Michael Martinez, Alfonso Marquis, Kenneth Torres, and Rock Torres.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Cleo Perkins III and Darrell Perkins.
