Obituary

Joanne Bailey Haven, age 59, passed away suddenly, on February 5, 2022, at her home in Spring, TX.   She was a lifelong resident of the Klein area of Houston. Joanne was born in Connecticut and moved to Klein with her parents Betty Jane and EJ Bailey and her brothers Hilman and Charlie when she was in elementary school at Haude Elementary. She was a graduate of Klein High School and attended the University of North Texas at Denton.  Everyone who knew and loved her would tell you that she was the funniest person they knew. You could not be in her presence without being filled with laughter and fun. She also played a mean air guitar.  Music was always a part of being with Joanne. She knew every word to every song.

Joanne loved sports especially tennis, Longhorn Football, the Houston Texans, and the Astros. If you knew her, you knew not to interrupt during a game or a tennis match. It's safe to say she was NOT a Dallas Cowboys fan and she let you know.

Joanne married the love of her life, Mark and together they settled in Klein where they raised their children, Chris, Bailey and Kevin.  She loved her family fiercely and supported them through the Klein Broncos football and drill team and later the Klein Bearkadettes.

Her three grandchildren affectionately called her JoJo.  A fourth grandchild will arrive this summer.

Joanne loved the beach and the sun. Most summer days were filled with her family in the backyard pool.  It was her happy place.

Early in her adult life, Joanne was blessed to be connected with her birth family.  They instantly "clicked" and shared a family bond until her death.  She traveled to Connecticut many times over the years and they traveled to Texas as well.  We will all miss her laughter, humor, love, and fun-spirit.

Joanne is preceded in death by her precious parents, Betty Jane and EJ Bailey and her loving father, Jim Mistretta.

She is survived by her husband, Mark, and her children, Christopher Haven, Bailey Haas, and Kevin Haven; her grandchildren Carter Haven, Colton Haas, and Charlie Haas.  Also surviving Joanne are her siblings, Hillman Bailey and wife Ann, Charlie Bailey, Mark Mistretta and wife Dawn, Jennifer Mistretta Juan and husband Juan, Jason Mistretta and wife Karen, Sara Mistretta, Kerry Cannon Trace; brothers-in-law Mike Haven and wife Kim and Joe Haven and wife Stephanie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lifelong friends Mary Kate Berlin, Roni Duval and Tammy Stanfill were truly family to Joanne.  They raised their children together and were truly loved by her.
