Our mother, JoAnn Massey Townsend, left this life for a better place on February 14, 2023 at the age of 86. JoAnn had been in poor health for quite some time. We know she is now free of pain and for that we are thankful.
Mother was born on April 16, 1936 in Houston TX.
JoAnn is predeceased by her husband, Charles Townsend, parents Marshall and Clara Massey, Step-parents Frank and Edna Martin, siblings Marshal Massey Jr, Joyce Coker, Julie Fitch, Evelyn Chamberlin and granddaughter Melissa Townsend.
She is survived by a sister, Sherry (Jim)Duncan, Children; Bonnie (Jeff) Cole, David (Danielle) Townsend, Lori (J.D.) Dettenhaim, Grandchildren; Raymond (Gina) Cole, Leslie (Steven) Pafford, Clinton Carraway, Jennifer (Daniel) Wyeth, Blake Book, Ashley (Jason) Cogburn, Ethan and Adi Townsend, Raigan (Joshua) Champagne, Brittian (Antonio)Bravo, Rylee and Landyn Champagne and Easton Sassie, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
