August 23, 1931 - November 6, 2022

Joan Williams age 91, of Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Westland, Michigan, passed away on November 6, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Gene Williams for 68 years. Loving mother of Alan (Barbara) and the late Lou Ann (Thomas) Churches. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Churches, Mark Churches and Alan (Amber) Williams. Devoted Sister-in-law of JoAnn Williams-Neher.

She was also proceeded in death by her loving parents Mart and Rosa Ranes, sister Joyce Ranes-Buchacker and beloved nephew Gary Fisher.

Her family moved from Judsonia, Arkansas, to Westland, Michigan, when she was three. Her parents farmed and had 30 acres of Strawberries and Blackberries. Over the years many would come up to her and say I know you; I picked Berries for your family 40 or 50 years ago.

Joan never met a stranger. She was known for her sense of humor and loved nothing more than her family. Joan was an accomplished cook and her southern style breakfasts were legendary among her family and friends. She loved bowling, Volleyball, Pinochle, and painting.

Joan was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a founding member of the Westland Historical Society.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The family will be holding memorial services at a later date.
