Joan Marsh Rigby Mitchell passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Angleton, Texas, to her parents, Mary Louise (Brooks) Marsh and William Elmo Marsh.
Joan devoted her life to education and to the enrichment of young minds. As an educator, she touched countless lives through her commitment to learning, compassion, and encouragement. Her gentle spirit, guiding presence, and unwavering dedication to her students remain a cherished part of her legacy.
Joan's greatest joy was her family, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by: Her Sister: Jacqueline Marsh Shotwell; Her Children and Their Spouses: Mark Edward Rigby, son, Lee Ann Rigby Solberg, daughter, Jacqueline Kaye Pate Rigby, daughter-in-law, Loren Arthur Solberg, son-in-law; Her Stepchildren and Their Spouses, Gayle Mitchell Bellomy (spouse Mark), Laurance Andrew Mitchell (spouse Christine); Her Grandchildren, Nathan Marcus Rollins (spouse Bonny Betsy Ross), Patrick Riley Rollins (spouse Jenafer Morgan), Jessica Leigh Rigby Markham, Emily Ann Rigby Kos (spouse Paul John), Randall Tyler Kendrick (spouse Jessi JoClaire); Her Great-Grandchildren, Garrett Taylor Rollins, Abbey Marie Rollins, Julie Ann Rollins, Austin Edward Markham, Mathilda Kaye Markham, Henry Francis Markham, Charlie Leland Kos, Weston Royce Kendrick; Her Step-Grandchildren, Luke Thomas Bellomy, Benjamin Andrew Bellomy, Mary Ruth Mitchell, and Jonathan Robert Mitchell.
Joan's legacy lives on in her family, her students, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, wisdom, and love will be forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. A burial will follow at Independence Cemetery 13367 FM 2620, Bedias, TX.
