Joan Marie Kontz , 85, of Spring, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Joan was born on April 8, 1935 in Queens , New York to the late Walter Kuss and Regina LeMay Kuss. Joan and her late husband Michael Kontz were married for 37 years.

Joan and her late husband Mike traveled internationally for over 30 years. During that time, they adopted Julie Ann from Jakarta, Indonesia when she was just a few days old. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1979 where Mike retired from Gulf Oil as an Exploration Geologist at the age of 49.

Joan enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, playing on her weekly bowling team, exercising regularly and her daily martini at 5pm with her one cigarette.

Joan will be greatly missed by her only daughter Julie Ann and husband Robert, her granddaughters whom she adored, Emily Ann and Katherine Grace and her nieces and nephew Pat Shaine, Joan Schaefer, Walter (Chip) Kuss and MaryAnn Mickulas.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
