Obituary

Jo Ann Kitterer Bryant, of Tomball, TX passed away on August 23, 2021. Born June 19, 1934 in Kansas City, KS to the late Otto and Jessie Clark Kitterer. Jo Ann was Preceded in Death by her parents and Brother Ronald Kitterer. Jo Ann is Survived by her Husband of 52 years, Denton Bryant, Daughters DeeAnn LaRue and Donna Landry. Grandchildren: Alexander Gravenites, Natalie LaRue, Benjamin Landry and Aaron LaRue. Brother, Barry Kitterer. Nieces: Marty McDowell, Rhonda Kitterer, Cheryl Kay and Marlow Morrison. Nephews: Gene Kitterer, Phillip Kitterer, Brian Kitterer and Bradley Kitterer.

Jo Ann was descended on her father's side from Christian missionaries who immigrated to Galveston, TX from Württemberg Germany. They founded several churches in Texas and in Kansas. Her mother's side originally hailed from Scotland and lived in Pontusec, IL where they worked in a factory producing buttons from oyster shells. Her father was a master Mechanic overseeing the Kansas City US Postal Service fleet of mail delivery vehicles. Her mother was an efficiency expert in a garment factory. Jo Ann was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Aunt and Friend. She gave her time and talents to charities and organizations she cared about including Shriners Hospital for Children. Jo Ann was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilted blankets. Jo Ann was very creative in cooking as well as arts and crafts. She was an amazing problem solver. Jo Ann enjoyed politics and personally witnessed many notable historical events throughout her life. In her career, Jo Ann's first job was at Willie's Jeep as a secretary. She learned to type 100 words per minute in High School and could take dictation in shorthand. Jo Ann had beautiful penmanship and her handwriting in cursive will be remembered by everyone who saw it. She served as Vice President of Northwest Park subdivision and worked in Customer Service at Wells Fargo Bank, Champions location for 16 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jo Ann Bryant's name to Shriner's Hospital for Children in Galveston, TX.
