Obituary

Jin Young Park, beloved father, brother, and uncle, went to be with the Lord on January 23rd, 2024 at the age of 83.

Jin was born in Seoul, Korea on March 29th, 1940 to parents Chong Hwi and Pok Soon Park.  He attended Chahng Chun Elementary School and Kyung Bok Secondary School.  He then gained acceptance into the prestigious Seoul National University and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Korean Language and Literature from the College of Humanities.

After marriage and then moving to the United States, Jin worked to support his family while fulfilling his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.  He worked in insurance sales in Los Angeles, California receiving many accolades, and then moved to Houston, Texas in the late 1970s where he opened a driving school and a maintenance company in addition to investing in real estate.  In 2005, he retired from the United States Postal Service after an honorable career of 21 years.

When he was not working, Jin spent his time fishing, boating, watching baseball (he loved the Astros!), and reading the Bible.  After retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his properties, calling and chatting with his siblings, and dining out with his son on the weekends.

Jin is survived by his son, David Park, his daughter, Susie Nonhof, his brothers, Woo Young, Kwan Young, and Shin Young Park, his sister, Ho Young Ko, his grandchildren, Kailyn, Jacob, Joshua, and Bethany Nonhof, and his nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00am at the Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas on March 12, 2024 with the interment of the urn directly to follow.
