Jimmy "Jim" Wayne Crabtree, age 91, was born on March 15, 1934 and passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a genuine desire to brighten the lives of everyone he met.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Columbus Crabtree; his mother, Ella Ree Howard; his brother, Tommy G. Crabtree; and his grandparents, James A. Howard and Nottie Howard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Edith Mae Crabtree; his daughters, Joni Sharps (Don) and Judith C. Brooks (Mark); his grandchildren, Jason Nunley, Kristin Nunley Morin, Lee Brooks, and Melissa Brooks; and eight cherished great‑grandchildren. Jim's family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in each generation that followed him.
Jim's interests reflected his kind heart and industrious spirit. He found happiness in spending time with his family, working in the yard, tackling home projects, helping others, and lifting the spirits of those around him.
A dedicated and accomplished professional, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He went on to build a successful 25‑year career with Xerox Corporation, where he worked from 1962 to 1987.
Jim will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his readiness to lend a hand, and the warmth he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home (16131 Champion Forest Drive Spring, TX 77379) on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 PM and a graveside service at Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038) on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
