Today, we celebrate a genuine man, a man larger than life that had a lasting impact on so many. A son to Thua Tran and Nancy Goodlette. A nephew to Hong Tran, Sum Tran, Sac Tran, Jenny Ha, Ly Thach and Ngoan Do. A brother to Thuy Goodlette (Ruben Serna) and Aponte (Julie) Goodlette. A cousin to Ramon Thach, Kathleen Thach, Charlie Thach, Hieu Ha, Ashley Wyman, Steven Ha, Nancy Huynh, and Lucy Tran. An uncle to Blayc Goodlette, Cybal Goodlette, Devyn Goodlette, Elyzabeth Goodlette, Sharif Goodlette and Omega Goodlette. A god father to Teagan Hoth. Most importantly a friend. All of his friends were family that he had chosen for himself.
Jimmy Van Tran was called home June 1, 2021. He was born in Palacios, Texas where he found his first love of fishing. When he was 10 years old, the family moved to Houston, Texas, where Jimmy would become family to so many friends and find his love for H-Town. Jimmy's passion for all sports was undeniable but football stole his heart. Although, he lived in Houston, the Dallas Cowboys was his team and there was no denying it. Jimmy played football all through school and when he was given the opportunity to become a coach for the TYFA Tigers, he didn't hesitate because he loved giving back and inspiring the youth. Jimmy was a caregiver to everyone and truly lived by his moto "Family over Everything".
