James (Jim) Hart, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away quietly on September 2, 2026.

Jim was born on November 3, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to James F. and Donna R. Hart. He became a Texan at age five when his family moved south where his father was offered a job in the mortgage and lending field. Jim attended school in the Spring Branch ISD system, then later attended Stephen F. Austin University. After a couple of years in college, he was called to serve in the US Army, where he spent two years at Fort Bliss, Texas. Later he returned to SFAU where he obtained Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education.

The majority of Jim’s career was spent in the computer manufacturing field where he made many loyal friends and co-workers. After retirement, he volunteered at the Fair Haven United Methodist Church food pantry.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Lenda, son Evan and wife Katie Hart plus two grandchildren, Madison and Jake Hart. As the oldest of five children, he also leaves behind four siblings: Patrick Hart, Jacque Sauls, Russell Hart and Melora Dwyer along with their families. Those also mourning his passing include his two sisters-in-law, Carol Jeffrey and Deana Craft of Lufkin, Texas and their families.

The family would also like to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by the nurses and administrative staff of Blue Star Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or Operation Smile.
