Obituary

It is with great sorrow that the family of James J. "Jim" Franks, 55, announce his passing on December 22, 2018. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne's Catholic Church, 1111 South Cherry St, Tomball, Texas, 77375. Father Tommy will officiate. Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors at Klein Funeral Home Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. - 1400 West Main, Tomball, Texas, 77375, 281-351-7233. A Rosary Service will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

James, affectionately known as Jim, was born on December 5, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Carlyss, Louisiana. He graduated from Sulphur High School and served our country in the Naval Reserves from 1984 to 1996. He also attended McNeese State University and graduated with a Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1990. Jim worked in the Semiconductor and Computer Industry as a VP of Sales. Jim loved to hunt and fish and spend time at his River House with his family. He also enjoyed carrying on the traditions of his Grandparents which included canning vegetables and making Polish sausage. In his children's early years, he took great pride in teaching and coaching them in various sports.

Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Tina Franks; daughter Lauren Franks Crippen and husband Josh Crippen; son Andrew Franks and son Christopher Franks; mother and father Michael and Carol Franks; mother-in law Carol Biano; brother Mark Franks and wife Nicole Franks, brother Paul Franks and wife Beverly Franks; brother Tom Franks and wife Kelley Franks; sister Cathy Franks Horn and husband Blake Horn; sister-in-law Lori Doise and husband Mark Doise; sister-in-law Amy Reyna; brother-in-law Dustin Biano;  five nieces Madison Horn, Gracie Horn, Lauren LaRocca, Rylie Doise and Marlo Doise; five nephews Sean Ancelet, Taylor Franks, Matthew Reyna, Michael Horn, and Trent LaRocca.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice in memory of Jim. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at:
