Jezell Lyles, Jr. passionally known by his family as "Jr. Boy" was born on September 1, 1958 to the late Jezell Lyles, Sr. and the late Thelma Darby Lyles in Houston, Texas. Jezell was the fourth born child and brought great joy to the family as the first son and brother. On Sunday, March 22, 2020, Jezell peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Karen Lyles Jones, Jocelyn Faye Lyles, mother-in-law Gloria Jean Thomas and father-in-law Charles Ray Thomas.

Being in a spiritual bonded family, Jezell obeyed the gospel and was baptized on February 15, 1970 at the Trinity Gardens Church of Christ under the leadership of the Late M.C. Daniels, Sr. Jezell participated in the Young Men's Training Classes and enjoyed being an Usher.
Jezell attended school in the North Forest School District and graduated in the Class of 1976 from MB Smiley High School. After completing his high school education, Jezell decided to follow in the footsteps of his cousins/brothers Rowland Steptoe and Kenneth Lyles by joining them at Prairie View A&M University. Jezell chose to major in Engineering. Jezell was given a job opportunity by his uncle, the late M. C. Daniels, Sr. to work at Entex Gas company which is known today as CenterPoint Energy. Jezell worked for CenterPoint Energy as an Operational Manager for 37 years. He later retired June 2017.

Along life's journey, Jezell met Natalie Williams and was married on June 28, 1985. To this union, three children were born, Jonathan, Jequille and Jazmine. Being a husband and father brought lots of joy and happiness to Jezell. The joy and happiness continued when he and his wife Natalie became parents to his three nephews, Charles, Marcus and Brandon. His family was extended with the birth of his grandchildren Charle'son, Caryn, Jonathan Jr, Ezekiel, Lovely, Jordan, Marcus Jr. and Loyalty. Jezell will always be remembered by his family as a great provider who gave support to all.

Jezell leaves to cherish his everlasting memories to his loving and devoted wife Natalie , sons Jonathan and wife Lorena, Jequille and wife Brittany, Charles, Marcus, Brandon and wife Latoya, daughter Jazmine, sister Ethel and husband Jim, brother Deotis, sister-in-laws Cheryl Irving, Chandra Jones and husband Donnell, brother-in-law Alfred Williams, Uncle RD Steptoe, Jr. and a host of nephews, nieces, other close relatives and friends.
