Jewell Alice Pharr Dawson, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and caring friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 at the age of 96. She and her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Dawson, raised three sons, worked for the Borden Dairy Company for 40 years and during one 20-year period, moved their home over ten times. Jewell was the glue who made it all work.

Born in Lubbock, Texas on March 16, 1929, to Judge Homer L. Pharr and Mabel Lou Chapman Pharr, Jewell was a brilliant student who graduated salutatorian from the College of Business at Texas Tech University with a degree in accounting in 1950 (a time when few women studied business). She married Bob Dawson, her high school sweetheart, in 1948. Together, they became entrepreneurs and launched an independent distributorship for Borden Dairy in Snyder, Texas in 1952.

Jewell will always be remembered for being a person of deep faith and integrity, dedicated to her family, very smart, hardworking and in love with Bob. Most remarkable, however, when her husband died 34 years ago, Jewell continued to live her life with unusual strength and an amazingly positive attitude - independent and joyful - with a passion for family, friends, church, travel, golf, bridge and investment clubs. She is the role model for all of us.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers Lee Jay Pharr and Marshall Pharr. She is survived by her children, Dale Dawson (Judi), Scott Dawson (Pam) and Jim Dawson (Lisa); her eight grandchildren, Shanna Choate (Brandon), Nick Dawson (Ashley) Daniel Dawson (Ashley), Adam Dawson, Alex Dawson, Katherine Behere (Sean), Katie Dawson and Jack Dawson (Cassie); her eleven great grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, Tyler, Oliver, Bonnie, Eli, Emree, Jacqueline, Peter, Oliver and Charleston and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, October 26th at Klein Memorial Park, 32539 State Highway 249, Pinehurst, Texas 77355.
