Jewell Wayland Carter, age 88, of Humble Texas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 14, 2016. She was born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana on July 21, 1927 to Zera and Willa Wayland. Jewell is survived by her only daughter, Sharon Cook and husband Gordon of Tomball, TX; two grandchildren Christina Cook Hale and husband Buddy of Tomball, TX, and Robert Cook and wife Brittany also of Tomball, TX; one great-grandchild; two beloved sisters Nelda Glass of Shreveport LA, and Lynda Dean and husband James of Humble, TX. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard of 63 years and her parents. Graveside service will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX followed by a lunch and memories at Rose Hill United Methodist Church in Tomball, TX.
