Jerry Ross Patterson

June 3, 1941 – February 19, 2019

Jerry Ross Patterson, 77, of Hockley, TX, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, located at 1400 W Main in Tomball, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Klein Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery in Pinehurst, TX.

Jerry was born in Pratt, KS to Belva and Earl Patterson on June, 3, 1941. He was the only son, sharing a great upbringing with three wonderful sisters in Kingman, KS. During his time growing up, Jerry was a rough housing football player, loved hotrods, and at one point, was a biker with the nickname Barney.

Jerry went on to join the Airforce, installing telecom all over the world, including Europe, Pakistan, Africa, Turkey, Vietnam, and North Korea. These experiences contributed to his worldly views and sense of humor. His telecom experience in the Airforce led to an exciting career in technology, with the opportunity to work in Greenland and all over the states. His five-year military tenure also enabled Jerry to pursue Political Science at North Texas State University, where he met the love of his life, Maria, in which he shared 49 years of marriage.

Jerry and Maria shared their life in several states, settling in Hockley, TX with their three daughters Theresa, Corissa, and Laura.

Jerry always had a passion for politics, attending Republican conventions and meeting several presidents. He was vocal on political sites and would always stand up for his beliefs. Jerry also enjoyed collecting science fiction, sports, and political memorabilia. In addition, he was an avid poker player, active sponsor, and jack of all trades – he could fix anything.

Jerry will be remembered as a good man by friends, and good father by his daughters, and a great husband to his wife.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Maria Patterson of Hockley, TX, his daughter Laura Patterson of Romeoville, Illinois, his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Wilkins and Dennis Wilkins of Tomball, TX, his grandson Briton Wilkins of Tomball, TX, and sisters Erlene Richardson of Cheney, KS and Janet Fairbrother of Shell Knob, MO.
