After a long hard battle with cancer, Jerry Mouser, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Jerry was born in Oblong, Illinois and attended Oblong High School where he met Beverly, his high school sweetheart and wife. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois in 1964.

After graduating from Eastern Illinois University, Jerry began a several decades long career in the petroleum industry with Marathon Petroleum, Enterprise Product Co. and EZ Serve Inc., a leader in the development of self- serve gasoline stations and convenience stores and Tesoro Petroleum Corp.  Post his energy career, Jerry was involved in commercial and residential real estate development and as a Principal and CEO of KBC Engineering, a company focused on optimizing oil refinery's operations and profitability. He was also a successful personal investor in publicly traded financial markets.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ida Mouser and by his sister, Donna Mouser Donnelly. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Beverly, his son, Jeff and wife Candi and daughter, Christi; grandchildren: Colton Amalfi, Connor Amalfi, Carson Amalfi, Callie Mouser, Camryn Berger, Caitlyn Berger and great-grandchildren, Celina and Reign.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family was so important to him. He enjoyed taking family vacations to the mountains and the beach and just thrived on seeing his family have fun. His true passion was golf. He lived for the days with his friends playing golf several times a week, then gathering in the clubhouse for stories and good laughs.

Jerry was an incredibly charismatic leader, mentor and man who always led by example. He was a man who gave everything and worked hard for his family. He was an inspiration to so many people. He will be forever missed and always remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while.

Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt, and given me relief.

So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all, and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a little while.

As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
