JERRY 'KIRK' JOHNSON, 58 of Spring, TX, passed away in the morning of June 23, 2022. He was pre-deceased by his mother Renita Gay McMennamy Johnson, his father F.M. 'Happy' Johnson, and his Uncles Glenn McMennamy, and Craig and Reny Johnson. Kirk was born February 5th, 1964 in Amarillo, TX. Kirk graduated from Chickasha High School, and then attended the University of North Texas where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and would later attend the University of Tulsa, where he then received his Master of Arts in Organizational Development. Kirk, who always wanted to help and work with others, would then go on to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry with a focus on Human Resources, a career that spanned nearly four decades.
Kirk was a beloved husband, a devoted father, a wonderful friend, and a mentor to many. Kirk was an avid fan of many sports, but his true love was football, notably Tom Brady, and car racing. Kirk lived a full and happy life, a life that included being named the 1992 Division Four Rookie of the Year for the NHRA, and playing semi-professional football for the Texas Professional Football League. Kirk had a love for New Balance shoes, plaid and Hawaiian shirts, and anything related to WWII history. Surviving is his adoring wife of 25 years, Diana Sanders Johnson, and his three loving children, Cole, Jake, and Jillian, along with his step-mother Glenda Johnson, brother Deeter Prater and wife Christina, Uncle Jerry McMennamy, as well as many nieces, nephews, family members, friends and co-workers.
The family would respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, a monetary donation for his adoring wife Diana, and their loving children, Jake and Jillian, be considered.
