erry Thomas Hicks, 82, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on August 22nd, 2024 predeceased by son Michael Jerome Hicks. Jerry was born on June 2nd, 1942 to Ronald Virgil and Janie Kathryn Hicks in Dyersburg, Tennessee. After Jerry graduated in Cheyenne, Wyoming from East High School in 1960, he went through electrical trade school at Coyne College in Chicago, Illinois. He later went to serve for the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972. He was a helicopter repairman and warrant officer in the Vietnam War. After moving to Houston, he started schooling for IBEW. He kickstarted a 20 year career at Fisk Electric which led him to another 20 years at Anheuser Busch as a Brewing Maintenance Manager. Houston is also where he met his beautiful bride Shirley Ann Wilhelm. They went on to have two handsome sons together, Michael Jerome and Matthew Paul. Jerry retired and spent his time caring for his grandchildren. Always spoke so highly of them and was so giving. His grandchildren's names are Kennedy Michael Hicks, Kaden Matthew Hicks, and Kegan Murphy Hicks. Other existing family members include Autumn Phillips, Chuck Crawford, Ray Crawford, Cristy Partee, and Jeff Wittman. Jerry brought joy and warmth to every life he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please join us to remember the life Jerry lived – one filled with love and laughter that will forever remain in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home on August 26th from 5pm-8pm.
