Jerry A. Jones passed away Monday, December 10th at age 87 after a life well lived. Jerry was born in Beaumont, Texas, graduated from Beaumont High School in 1949, and earned a BBA from Lamar Tech in 1955 after his return from Korea, where he proudly served from 1951-54 as a Staff Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. Most of Jerry's career was spent as a dedicated employee of Gulf Supply Company. He and his family moved from Beaumont to New Orleans, New Jersey and back to Houston for Gulf Supply, where he was Vice President of Sales. Jerry would proudly tell everyone he met that he and Anita had been married for over 62 years; best decision he ever made. Jerry was a good and faithful husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His role as grandfather was his most cherished; he thought grandfathers were silly until he became one. He was a good friend and had many lifelong friends, including many who he will be happy to see at the gate along with his son Gordon who we lost in 2008. Jerry will be missed by many. Jerry is survived by his wife Anita Bond Jones, daughter Jerolyn, daughter-in-law Vicki Jones, grandson Jeremy and spouse Giri Parameswaran, granddaughter Elizabeth and spouse Will Mulkins, great-grandson Dominic, great-granddaughter Divya, sister-in-law LaWanda Plake and spouse Eddie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 16 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive. Services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes Dr. at 1 p.m. Monday, December 17th. He will be buried with military honors at the Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 18th at 10:30 a.m.
