Obituary

Jerre Colley Clark passed away quietly on Thursday morning, March 3, 2022, at her home in Magnolia, Texas at the age of 89, following a long illness. She was born on December 3, 1932, in Dallas, Texas. The second of three children born to Church of Christ Minister Flavil L. Colley, and his wife Leola, she spent her early years in the Dallas area before moving to Harlingen, Texas, where she graduated high school. It was there that she met and married Richard H. (Dick) Clark and they had three sons. The family moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1962 where a fourth son was born in 1964. Jerre worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Crown Central Petroleum and later for Campbell Construction Company.

An avid horsewoman, she was very active in the horse-riding community in Pasadena and participated for many years in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo equestrian competitions. Following the death of her husband Dick, she moved to Magnolia, Texas. She continued in equestrian competitions and was an officer for many years in the Gulf Coast Appaloosa Horse Club. She was a faithful member of the Magnolia Church of Christ.

Jerre was preceded in death by her parents, Flavil L. and Leola Colley, her husband, Dick Clark, her son, Craig Clark, and her sister, Sherrell Miller. She is survived by her brother Flavil L. (Sonny) Colley, Jr. and wife Sandra and her sons, Randy Clark and wife Venie, Mark Clark and wife Vicki and Tracy Clark and wife Laura. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. March 8, 2022 at Klein Funeral Home with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Klein Funeral Home Tomball.
