Jerianne Danell Green passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021 surrounded by her family in Waller, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Winwood Presbyterian Church in Houston. Burial will follow at the Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst. Jerianne Green was born on July 7, 1975 to Jerry Wayne Green and Suzanne Norred Green in Houston, Texas.
Jerianne graduated from Tomball High School in 1993. She then went on to Abilene Christian University (1998) to earn a degree in English with the hopes of becoming a lawyer. After graduation, her mom, one of the founders of Step by Step Christian School, asked for a favor. This favor was to be a sixth-grade teacher for one year and would change the trajectory of her life forever.
Once she began teaching, a passion took hold of her and all thoughts of law school were forgotten. She filled many roles at both Step by Step Christian School of Tomball and Children's Learning Center of Waller over the years, including: teacher, director, head of schools, Girl Scout leader, mentor, and friend to all. What began as a favor became a lifetime legacy of service.
Jerianne Green was a pillar of Step by Step Christian School. Following in the footsteps of her parents and aunt, she helped create a foundation not only of excellence in education, but a ministry for the Lord that generations to come will reap the benefits of. Her unconditional love, ability to see the best in everyone, and unfailing support helped so many young people realize their potential and grow in wisdom, maturity, and love of the Lord.
Jerianne was called Goose by most that knew her, a nickname that was given to her as a child by her grandmother. She was of quick wit and well read, always providing useful information and counsel. She loved to laugh and be silly; most conversations involved her sharing a funny story or spontaneously breaking into song. She was altruistic and an exemplary friend, offering unparalleled support, empathy, and compassion. Her love, kindness, and grace were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jerianne was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend. She loved fiercely, faithfully, and well.
Jerianne was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Suzanne Green, and her brothers, David Edward Green and Jerry David Green. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jade Danell (Green) and Shawn Miller; aunts and uncles Dr. Mary Ruth (Green) and Reverend Marshall Moore, Nancy (Norred) and James Davis; her sisters and brother-in-law Jennifer Danell (Green) and Walton S. Little, Jr., and Julie Danell (Green) Little; her nieces and nephews Stephanie Marie (Hays) and Jack Sanchez,
Sarah Jolene (Hitchcock) and Russell Ford, David Nelson and Kristen (Shook) Hitchcock; great-nieces and nephews Jacob Jackson Sanchez, Wesley Allen Ford, Layne Allen Ford, Cody Allen Ford, Olivia Grace Suzanne Hitchcock, Corbin Brady Hitchcock, and Danielle Ruth Hitchcock; her beloved dog, Abigail, and numerous life-long friends and loved ones.
