Johanna "Jennie" Do Drabbant
1930-2019
Jennie Drabbant left us peacefully on Tuesday, May 7 2019 at the age of 88 years.
She was born on July 31, 1930 in the town of Nanty Glo, PA. Her parents had recently immigrated to America from Italy and the family returned to Italy for a short time when Jennie was only a few years old before settling down in Nanty Glo for the remainder of Jennie's younger years. After her marriage to George Drabbant in 1950, she lived in a variety of locations but spent the majority of her life in Chambersburg, PA (1960-1970), Shreveport, LA (1970-1978) and Spring, TX (1978-2019).
Jennie returned to work in the early 70's after a 20-year absence and was a part of the early days of "data processing" with her position as a manager of a data processing group in Shreveport. After moving to Houston, she then became an HR manager in the Fulbright & Jaworski law firm in Houston.
Most importantly, Jennie was a devoted wife to her husband, George (1950-2006) and mother to her son Bob. She was also a devout Catholic and her philosophy of how to treat others can be summed up in the following bible verse: Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." By adhering to that statement, she set an excellent example for everyone she came in contact with. On the lighter side, Jennie was an avid reader, Pittsburgh PA sports fan and lover of flowers. She also cherished the time that she spent with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and the miniature schnauzer, Ginger as her comfort dog.
Jennie is preceded in death by her loving husband George and by her parents Lucy Do Vogini and Fred Do. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bob and Mariani, by her sisters Mary Do and Catherine Davis, by her in-laws Robert Drabbant, Shirley Frank, and Arlene/Ed Warzel, by her grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew and Steven and by her great-grandchildren Sophia and Rosalie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19 from 4-6 PM including a 30-minute Catholic prayer vigil (5:30-6 PM) at Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77355. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 20 at 10AM at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Parish, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77386. Following the funeral service will be a reception at Sts. Simon and Jude Domec Hall.
Any memorial donations should be made to the American Lung Association or Catholic Relief Services.
