Obituary

Jeffrey Wade Smith was born in Beaumont, Texas on March 21, 1970 to Anthony and Mary Ella Smith. After a lengthy battle with colon cancer, Jeff passed away in Spring, Texas on June 27, 2021 at the age of 51 years, 3 months, 6 days surrounded by his family.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nalie; daughters Madison and Kendall; bonus children Elizabeth, Justin, Kayli and Kayden; parents, Anthony and Mary Ella Smith; brother, Tige and his wife, Taylor Smith, and their son Cole Troutman; father and mother-in-law, Victor and Shirley Bailey; and numerous relatives and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles Dion Smith, Edwin Smith, Jimmy Upchurch and Tommy Gates.

Jeff was baptized and confirmed on April 12, 1981, at Tomball United Methodist Church. Jeff attended Tomball schools starting in 1st grade and graduated Tomball High School in 1988. After high school, he attended Tarleton State University to study and play basketball. He then attended Texas A&M University for 2 years after which he left to join the family business at AW Smith Construction.

Jeff met his wife Nalie in 1994 and they were married May 17, 1997 at Tomball First Baptist Church. He welcomed his two beautiful daughters, Madison and Kendall on March 9, 2000 and October 3, 2001 respectively.

Jeff was an amazing Christian man who loved to spend time with his family camping at Garner State Park, taking whirlwind Spring break trips traveling all over the country, cruising the Caribbean, and taking the girls hunting in Huntsville. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing anytime, anywhere, even if it was in a mud hole. He loved spending time with family watching the Astros and hanging out in his happy place on the back porch.

Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services for Jeff will be July 3, 2021 at Abiding Word Lutheran Church. 17123 Red Oak Drive Houston, TX 77090

Visitation will begin at 1:30PM with service to follow at 3:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to Colorectal Cancer Alliance or to the Abiding Word scholarship fund by check made out to Abiding Word with Tuition Assistance written in the memo
