Obituary

Jean's life began in the loving and adoptive arms of her parents

Roy and Ima Ramsey in Houston, Texas. Her love of travel was

instilled at an early age with the many trips they took around the

country. Her love for animals also manifested at an early age for

there was always a dog (or two) in the house to look after and

care for. Jean graduated from San Jacinto High School in

Houston and went on to Texas Western University in El Paso for a

short time. While back in Houston, she accepted an invite to go

on a blind date where she met Bob. A few months into the

courtship Bob told her he was not going to Sacramento, CA

without her - and a few weeks later they married. Jean adjusted

into the military way of life and fulfilled that role in the most

committed of ways. With Bob away on training missions and

serving our country, sons Michael, Brian, and David kept her quite

busy on the home front. The assignment of their military career

was Sofia, Bulgaria where Bob served as the Air Attache to the

US embassy. The travel bug was in full throttle - while stationed in

Sofia the many trips included Germany, Greece, Turkey and Italy.

Once this assignment concluded, it was time for the military

career to end and move back home to Houston. Jean then

discovered another passion - selling real estate. After a

successful time in the real estate community it was time for more

travel. She and Bob continued their adventures in Egypt, China,

and back to Europe several times. Jean's beloved dogs received

her fullest focus and attention - she had many of her own and

never met a dog that she did not want to love on or say hello to.

She so appreciated her many activities - from her Mahjong groups

to the garden club and the antique club, she was always involved

and enjoying herself. Jean's friendships were incredibly important

to - her soft heart, sheer elegance, her unique ability to say the

right words will most assuredly be missed.
