Jeanne Dale, 77, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully at home with her sweetheart by her side on October 2, 2021.  She is survived by her spouse, 2 children and their spouses, 5 grandchildren and their spouses, 3 great grandchildren, and one sister & her spouse.

Jean was born in an Air Force hospital in Denver, CO and traveled the world with the military, collecting friends everywhere! In 1959 she met her someday sweetheart in high school at the teen club on the base in Japan. After returning to the states they found each other again, a few years later, at UT in Austin.  They've been together ever since.

They continued their passion for travel and adventure throughout their lives.  Over Bob's 25 career with Conoco and Vista Chemical, they took every opportunity to move all over the country and explore the world on adventurous vacations.  They even flew around the world in 10 days on PanAm, stopping in many exotic destinations! Some of her favorite trips included Disney World, Kenya, Tanzania, Thailand, Switzerland, cruises anywhere, and beachfront rooms at the El Presidente in Cozumel! She also loved motorhome trips throughout the US.

She had an abundant love for her children and grandchildren. She cherished the opportunity that she had to live within 5 miles of all of her grandchildren until they went off to college.  She loved vacationing with them, attending school events, sporting events, attending parties & celebrations.  Any chance to spend time with her kids or grandkids, she was there!

She had a deep pride in her link to Texas history! She is a 6 ^th generation Texan of Criswells that came to Texas with Stephen F. Austin's 3 ^rd colony.  She was a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She would have loved knowing that she left this earth connected to her past……she passed away on the anniversary of the Come & Take It Battle, which two of her direct ancestors fought in!

She loved Elvis almost as much as she loved Bob.  She enjoyed many years of attending musicals in downtown Houston. She loved the Texas Tenors. She loved horseback riding, tennis with her Lakewood Forest friends, Canasta and book club with her ladies organization, butterflies, lobster and king crab, Blue Bell Moo-llennium Crunch, Cokes in glass bottles,  and Ziplock bags! She was an incredible scrap book maker and documented every adventure and every grandchild!  She loved to buy flowers at Plants For All Seasons and have Juan or Fred plant them, creating a beautiful garden for her to enjoy each morning. Wildflower bouquets & sunsets at the ranch were always one of her favorite things to admire….we even had to chase the sun down with the golf cart at times. She loved lightening bugs and taking the grandkids to the bridge to watch them. She loved movies….home movies and Hollywood movies.

Her Southern Baptist upbringing made a huge impact on her life. She made sure that we found a church each time we moved and that we regularly attended Sunday service. Her final church home and pastor, the Cowboy Church of Brenham & Marty Mosher, had to be her favorite! (because Dad loved going to that one too!) In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean's name may be made to the Northwest Women's Club - Scholarship Fund:
