JEAN BORNE CARNES, 85, passed away on July 7, 2020, from complications of Alzheimers.

Jean was born to Marie Lucille Romagosa and John Joseph Borne on March 11, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the last of 12 children.  After completing Rabouin High School in New Orleans, Jean went to work for Humble Oil & Refining Company, where she met her husband, James Oran Langley, Sr.  Together, they had two children, James Oran Langley, Jr and Dana Jean Langley.

After moving back and forth between Houston and New Orleans with Humble Oil (now Exxon), the family established roots in Houston, TX.  The marriage later ended in divorce. After her divorce, Jean worked in an administrative capacity at several companies including South Coast Supply, Weatherford Lamb and Igloo.  Jean later remarried to Joe Ross Carnes and moved to Brownsville, TX, where they resided for several years.   Later, they returned to the Cypress, TX area where they lived in a house directly behind her son for almost 17 years.

Jean (Jeannie as she was called by her nieces and nephews) will always be remembered for her love of laughter, her ability to make others laugh, and for pinching cheeks.  Jean loved her precious dog, Ginger, and her cockatiel, Barney.

Jean was preceded in death by both parents and by her brothers and sisters, Joseph Borne, Lucille Borne Calico, Adelard Francis Borne, Ethel Mary Borne, Gladys Rosalie Borne Huggett,  Claire Margaret Borne Jacob, Raymond August Borne, Gloria Rose Borne Nelson, Alvin Borne, Loretta Alice Borne Talley, and Bernard Francis Borne, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jean is survived by both of her children, James Oran Langley, Jr. and wife, Terri, of Cypress, TX, and Dana Jean Williams and husband, Mike, of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Steven Michael Harris and wife, Sommer, of Crosby, TX; Ashleigh Lynn Rosebud and husband, Chris, of Houston, TX; Ashlee Dyan Salvatore, and Justin Babcock; and great-grandchildren, Devyn Denise Harris, Leelan Glen Harris, Briana Torres, and Grayson Salvatore.

Interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
