Jay Ross Necessary, 71, of Tomball, Texas passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Born on October 17, 1954, in Pasadena Texas, Jay lived a life marked by kindness, devotion to family, and a passion for connecting with others.

Jay attended Klein High School and continued his education at Lone Star College. His professional journey was both diverse and fulfilling. He dedicated 30 years to Klein's Supermarket before transitioning to office construction for Desselle Construction for four years. Jay then worked as a Senior Plan Analyst for the city of Houston for nine years before retiring. Even in retirement, he remained active working and having a great time at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, then at Bucee's here in Texas.

Faith played a central role in Jay's life. He was baptized at Immanuel Church in Spring, Texas, and contributed to the music ministry and youth programs at Plymouth Church in Spring. At his current church, RoseHill Methodist Church in Tomball, he shared his musical talents as part of the choir and praise band, volunteered for VBS, and worked behind the scenes in the sound booth.

Jay had a deep love for history - particularly World War II and the Pacific front– and was fascinated by NASA's achievements. John Wayne was his hero and he loved all his movies and everything that he stood for. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and found joy in playing guitar and singing. His hobbies reflected his curiosity about the world and his appreciation for its wonders.

Above all else, Jay cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 52 years, Terry Mohr Necessary; his daughter Amanda Necessary; his son Kevin Necessary and daughter-in-law Cassie Necessary; and his precious grandchildren Mark and Georgiana. He also leaves behind his brother Steve Necessary and wife Ann; brother-in-law Ed Joyce; sister-in-law Rhonda Gross and husband Jeff; sister-in-law Jo Ann Desselle and husband Eric; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

He was predeceased by his parents Burt J. Necessary and Eva M. Necessary, as well as his brother Mark W. Necessary.

Known for his kind heart and warm personality, Jay never met a stranger. He had an extraordinary ability to make friends wherever he went, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who crossed his path. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, especially in the joy he found with his grandchildren.

Jay Ross "Jaybird" Necessary will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May the memories of his kindness, humor, and unwavering love bring comfort to those who mourn his passing. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at RoseHill Methodist Church located at 21022 Rosehill Church Rd., Tomball, Texas.
