Jay Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16th 2023.

He was born in Houston, Texas on June 22, 1962 to Willie Lawrence and Hazel (Albers) Lawrence. Jay was a native Houstonian and lived in the area all of his life.

Jay met his wife, Annette, in the summer of 1979 and they married on October 2, 1982. They had two children, Kevin and Megan.

Jay was an electrician and worked for Fisk electric for 17 years and then went on to work at Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Houston for almost 24 years.

When he wasn't working, Jay loved to hunt and fish in his younger years and you could often find him in his garage doing woodworking. He enjoyed making tables and finding new projects here and there. In the past few years, he picked up golfing and really enjoyed it.

Jay loved to have family and friends over to have a good time and enjoy each other's company.

He was a loving brother to brothers Robert Lawrence, Richard Lawrence and sisters Deborah Redd and Susie Renfro.

He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Lawrence, parents Willie and Hazel Lawrence, mother and father-in-law Joe and Tina Machac and sister Deborah Redd.

Jay was as a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Annette (Machac) Lawrence, son Kevin Lawrence and wife Cortnie, daughter Megan Burks and husband Zack. He was a very proud grandfather and is survived by his three grandsons, Ben Burks, Graham Lawrence and Dax Burks. He was loved by many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by a large extended family and many great friends.
