Janis Kay Schoemaker Schroeder was born January 27th, 1939 in Muscatine, Iowa and departed this world April 30th, 2025. Daughter of Edwin Russell and Wilma Grace Schoemaker. Janis wed her high-school sweetheart, Richard Schroeder on November 6th, 1954 and the two of them celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary November 6, 2024. Richard and Janis moved to Houston, Texas in 1972 where they continued to raise their four children. Janis was devoted to her family and actively participated in raising her grandchildren. Janis also worked for the church until she retired. Janis is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Schroeder; her brother Thomas and wife Sandra and their families; Janis's four children: Cindy Wilson and husband Gene, Pam Schroeder, Kimm Kartman, and Robert Schroeder; her four grandchildren: Jessica Wilson, Ashleigh Wilson, Katherine Kartman, Cole Kartman and wife Ashley, and Janis's great grandchild: Callie Kartman.

Janis accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour and resides with Him awaiting the rest of her family. A private family remembrance was held May 3rd.

Janis struggled with Alzheimer's disease and memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association .
