Janie Allen Wilkins, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 24, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on February 13, 1949, in Houston, Texas, Janie touched the lives of many with her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit.
Janie was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Lonnie "Nick" Herbert Wilkins; her dear son, Tyson Wayne Wilkins; her loving parents, Edward Herbert Allen and Jo Ann Tracy Allen; as well as her siblings, Richard Allen and Kitti Allen.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie Wilkins, and his wife, Karen; her daughter, Christina Osborne, and her husband, Rex; her brothers, Ronnie Allen (Birgit); and; Russell Allen (Jason Klawinski), and her treasured grandchildren, Amanda Carlton (Mason), Zachary Wilkins (Emily), Joshua Wilkins, Colin Osborne, and Tyson Osborne. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Reagan Carlton, Tatum Carlton, and Jasper Wilkins, who were a constant source of joy in her life.
Janie dedicated over 32 years of her professional life to Southwestern Bell, retiring with pride from a career that she loved. A devoted member of the church of Christ, her faith was a guiding light in her life. Janie was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge and spent many hours enjoying home improvement shows. She found immense joy in shopping for deals, always on the lookout for the next great bargain.
However, above all else, Janie treasured her time spent with family. She was the heart of every family gathering, always ready to create memories that would last a lifetime. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
As we celebrate the extraordinary life of Janie Allen Wilkins, let us remember her for the love she shared and the cherished moments we were fortunate enough to experience with her. May she rest in peace, wrapped in the love of those who have gone before her, as she watches over her family from Heaven.
