Janette "Jan" Simpson Roberts, age 86, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana to James R. and Myram H. Simpson.
Jan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around her faith, family, and service to others. She graduated from Sarepta High School in 1957. Jan later attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas (now Southern Arkansas University), and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
On December 18, 1959, Jan married the love of her life, Claude J. Roberts. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage built on faith, love, family, and lifelong companionship.
Throughout her life, Jan faithfully served the Lord and cared deeply for those around her. She treasured time spent with family and friends, volunteering at church, playing tennis, gardening, and encouraging others through her kindness and faith. Those who knew her will remember her loving spirit, servant's heart, and unwavering devotion to God and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Myram H. Simpson, her brother, Gene R. Simpson and brother-in-law, Terry W. Misenheimer.
Jan is survived by her loving husband, Claude J. Roberts Jr.; her sons, Claude John Roberts, III and his wife, Debbie and Monte R. Roberts; her grandsons, C.J. and Cole Roberts; her twin sister, Annette Simpson Misenheimer; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Memorial Service honoring Jan's life will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring, TX 77379.
In honoring Jan's wishes, her remains will be laid to rest in Louisiana at a later date.
