Janet Marie Collins-Sievers

The most beautiful woman that ever lived, has moved on to be reunited with her Mother and Father, and her beloved brother and sister.  As happy as we are in our faith that she is reunited with her loved ones, we are left with a longing too powerful to speak of.  Our great sorrow knows no end.  We will miss her loving smile and warm embrace every single day, for the rest of our lives, as she has left us far too soon.  She was born and raised in Austin, TX, November 21, 1947, she was called home on September 17, 2021, suddenly.  The love of her life, Edward Sievers, survives her even while faithfully hoping to see her beautiful face again, but not before God's will would have it to be.  Her children, Donna Marie Shurley, Tracie Lynn Walker, Ronald Allen Blevins, Michelle Marie Alexander, and her step daughters, Jacqueline, Annette, and Jenny rise up and call her blessed, for she was a woman that feared the Lord, the beginning of all wisdom, and of 10,000 women, she was wise.  Her Grandchildren, Cristalynn Beth, Mary Elisabeth, Christopher, Anna Marie, Brittany, Blaine, Martin, Tinea, Jordan, Faith, Connor, Andrew, Chase, Courtney, Tyler, Erica, Natasha, Arun, and Sarita find comfort in the wondrous things she taught each of them, but most of all the gift of lightning wit and intelligence that could only be called genius that they each inherited from her.   She is survived by her sister, Loretta Perry, with whom she spoke daily in that heart love for each other that only a sister understands. The nephews that loved her, Donald Ray, Michael, Wayne and Robert.  The loss is overwhelming for us all, and now for those that survive our beautiful beautiful Mother, but will have brief memories of a wonderful woman that loved them with all her heart and soul. She left to return home while they are quite young. Her Great-grandchildren, Emmalynn, Breelynn, Zane, Ethan, Petra, Novak, Danyion, Aislyn, SJ, Christian, Jackson, Lainee, Kodee, William, Kaitlynn, Paislee, Ellie, Christopher, and Lucy will all carry on her legacy of love.

How to sum up her life? So much love! So many memories!  She fought tirelessly in 2nd wave feminism, as she began her career as an accomplished accountant when she was just 19 years old! She was a pioneering woman that helped women gain the right to be paid equally and simply be allowed to wear slacks in the workplace.  She worked tirelessly to provide well for her children and would sacrifice everything to make sure there were necessities and a few luxuries, for all of us! The thought that we might want was unbearable for her! Retirement was a challenge for her, so she spent her days making life comfortable for all those around her. A faithful member of Daughters of the King with her church, Saint Dunstans, a Daughter of the American Revolution and a Daughter of Texas, she was so proud to be a member of these admirable groups!  A true renaissance woman, she was an artist with any media, creating paintings and she loved to knit and crochet and she learned to play the piano in her retirement years.  She loved Hallmark television shows and would watch the beautiful love stories played out for entertainment, because, above all things, including faith and hope, she believed in the transformative power and the eternal beauty of Love.  We are so grieved, and yet we find ourselves smiling with the knowledge that she's still with us.  The gesture of a hand waving, her smile beaming at us from the faces of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her mannerisms and expressions will be with us, forever, even as her greatest love, Edward Sievers, looks on with more pride and love for her, than ever.
