Janet Alice Selick, age 87, from Klein, Texas passed away March 20, 2025. Jan was born December 26, 1937, in Derby, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late Frank Grabowski and Stella Pronyszyn.

She was a graduate of Seymour High School in Seymour, CT
class of 1955. She then went to obtain her Bachelors, Masters, and six-year teaching certificate at Southern Connecticut State University. She went on to a long teaching career, teaching in  Beacon Falls CT, Seymour CT and finally retiring from Aldine ISD in Houston TX in 2006.

Jan is survived by her husband, Robert of 65 years and children Robert Selick, Nancy (Erich) Johnson, Gretchen Selick, and Susan (Ernesto)Matias.
Grandchildren Alexandra, Ryan, Stephen, Colleen, Scott (Brooke), Melissa (Liz), Paul, Christina, and 8 great grandchildren.

Jan was an avid traveler and enjoyed traveling and especially cruising with old and new friends.
She was a woman of deep faith and a devout Catholic. Some of the family's most treasured memories of Jan was time spent at the Saint Ignatius fall festival.
She was a huge dachshund fan adopting two from Dream Dachshund rescue.
Her summer evenings were spent cheering on her favorite team the Houston Astros.
