Janet Vettel Jones' Obituary
Janet Vettel Jones, 65, left to be in the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. She was born April 12, 1952. She is preceded in death by her loving father Edward Vettel, two wonderful warmhearted moms: mother Bertha Shills and step-mother Mildred Vettel, and son Bryan Jones. Janet was a loving wife and the devoted Mother of Jonathan, Bryan, and Ashley Jones. Janet enjoyed life to the fullest with her green thumb, love of animals, and yearn to travel. Janet brought joy to all she encountered with her one of a kind smile, soulful gaze, and warm embrace. She was a devoted wife to Jack and cherished the years spent with him, the love of her life. Janet and Jack's life together began with 4 years of going steady that flourished into 44 years of marriage. After graduating from Kennedy High School, Janet and Jack lived in a married couple's dorm at LSU where they began their life together. They then moved to Texas where she became a mother and raised three gracious children whom she devoted her life to as a proud mother. She and Jack proudly built "their tribe" in Magnolia- a home that now has countless memories of love dating back to 2000. Janet ventured to build the life they all had together and made it everything that it could be. She worked at Magnolia Vision Center with dear coworkers and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: her brothers Edward Vettel Jr.- "Boots", Jim and Bill Sloane; children Jonathan and his wife Elizabeth Jones, Ashley Jones; grandchildren Blake, Abigail, Ellie, Jaxon, and Michael; as well as countless other family members and many friends. Janet will always be known for being a humble, positive person who lit up a room with her presence and a giggle that traveled through walls. Her enthusiasm for life and positive outlook touched so many who are blessed to have had her in their lives. She changed our lives without even trying, and we don't think we could ever tell her how much she means to us. During Janet's journey on her final flight home, her white wings carried her in through those pearly gates of Heaven. Now she is home in the arms of Jesus with her loved ones surrounding her while the angels sing. Not a moment goes by that we don't cry out her name. She will live forever in our hearts. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Klein Funeral home in Magnolia Texas from 5 - 7 p.m. followed by a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Magnolia. The interment will immediately follow at Klein Funeral home.
