Obituary

Janelle Jones Dow, a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and treasured friend passed away on September 15, 2023.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Darren and Carey Dow of Cypress, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Laura and Kirk Klostermann of St. Louis, Missouri, and 6 grandchildren   Michael Dow, Lyndsay Dow, Allison Dow, Ryan Klostermann, Kyle Klostermann and Blake Klostermann.  Janelle is leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter through cherished memories of those who knew and loved her.

Janelle was born to R.L. and Fay Belle Jones in San Angelo, Texas where she spent the first 14 years of her life.  After losing her mother at the age of 12, Janelle moved with her father, grandmother and beloved aunt to Austin, Texas, where her father married Alice Jones, otherwise known as "Nana".  Janelle attended high school and the University of Texas while living in Austin.  While at the University, she met her husband, Doug, to whom she was married for 43 years.  After her time at UT, she worked at Texas Instruments as an Executive Assistant until they started their family.  They had two children, Darren and Laura, in Houston and then relocated to the West and East coasts for 10 years prior to returning to Houston.

Janelle was kind, caring, smart, fun, hard-working and a devoted wife and mom who spent countless hours running the house, volunteering, and doing what was needed to raise our family and ensure everyone had what they needed.  She was always there to raise up her friends and family at the times they needed it most.  Janelle loved reading, watching her UT Longhorns and college football, playing tennis, shopping, playing cards, traveling and having fun with her friends and family.  She loved watching her grandkids have fun and laugh together.  She leaves behind a legacy of them knowing and loving their Nonny, laughing with her through good and tough times.  She was such a gift to them and they were her pride and joy.

We will be celebrating her wonderful life on Wednesday, Sept 20th from 5-8pm during a visitation at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Klein, Texas 77379.   Funeral and Mass will be at 11am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston, Texas 77065.
