Jane Bell Stoneking was born on May 8th, 1961 and made it almost 57 trips around the sun. Her body wore out and her spirit and soul were set free on February 21, 2018.

Jane was born in Detroit, MI to Bill and Billie Bell. The fifth of six children, Jane was a sweet and loving child, and a faithful shadow to big brother, John. After a brief move to Winnetka, IL, the family settled in Bronxville, NY in 1963 for Bill's work as an executive with IBM. A small, close- knit community, Jane was involved in many activities. She sang in the church choir, was a Girl Scout and excelled in many sports at the Bronxville School. Jane was a football cheerleader, basketball player, ran track and became District Champion in the shot put her senior year. She especially enjoyed Field Hockey, and earned All District and All County honors. She considered going out for the sport as a freshman in college, but decided to focus on her studies and activities with the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. One of the greatest honors Jane earned as a senior at BHS was being voted by students and teachers to play the Virgin Mary at the annual village Christmas Eve pageant.

In 1969, Bill and Billie bought an historic dairy farm in Monterey, MA for the family to enjoy. Due to her love for her extended family, this became one of Jane's favorite places. She enjoyed teaching her children to swim at Lake Garfield, hiking to the Ranger station, enjoying the fall colors, visiting the goat farm and walking through town. To Jane, the farm was a great place for her children to bond and explore with their cousins. Playing cards, Yahtzee and performing talent shows were always on the schedule. Forever the "crafter", Jane made sure there were many art projects to complete each summer.

Jane decided to attend Penn State University after high school even though a lifelong Michigan fan. She loved college football and could throw a football farther than most men. An avid sportsperson, she enjoyed hiking, biking, snow skiing and snow shoeing her whole life. Jane loved the beach and mountains. If there is a beach or a mountain in heaven she is there.

A few years after graduating from Penn State she went to work for Phibro Energy in Greenwich, CT. It is here that she met her husband David. She began to learn much about the energy business and had a very successful career. She played on the softball team and bowling team at Phibro. David was transferred to Houston and Jane was transferred a few years later. They were married in September 1993, holding their celebration near Jane's beloved Farm in MA. Jaclyn was born in 1997, William in 1999, and Emma in 2005. Jane was a loving stepmother to Carl and Kevin. Jane and David formed Gulf Energy Company in 1995. Her valuable insight and steady advice to David has been immeasurable.

Jane stopped working in 1997 to devote her time to her family. Traditions were very important to Jane. She was the perfect mother and wife in all respects. She was the pillar in the family and took the role very seriously; there were not many grey areas. Jane enjoyed all of the children' activities including Carl's lacrosse, Kevin's acting and cello concerts, Jaclyn's volleyball games, William's time as a Bronco, and Emma's as a Pony.

"Children" were Jane's passion. She volunteered in the Nursery at MD Anderson and did inventory for MDA's Children's Art Project business in local stores. She was also very active in Brill Elementary PTO, holding many roles including event coordinator and treasurer.

A private person, Jane did not let many people into her inner circle. If you were blessed to be one of her close friends, she was fiercely loyal. Each of her friends have said she provided them inspiration and their lives were greatly enhanced by knowing Jane.
