Jane was born in Gallatin, Tennessee, the seventh daughter of Era Melissa Barnes and Charlie Hatler. She grew up on a farm that her daddy worked and had a warm, loving family who loved God and worshiped every Sunday. Living near Nashville, Tennessee, Jane loved music and came from a musical family. As a young girl, she played piano in the church and sang to the congregation with her younger brother.

Jane was an accomplished executive secretary for over fifty years until she retired to live across the street form her son and daughter-in-law in 1999 here in Houston, Texas. There she enjoyed a simple, relaxing life for 23 years, with her precious little dogs, Sadi and Cime. Playing her piano, enjoying her little dogs and decorating her home were her favorite pass-times.

As the last one in her immediate family to pass, she is survived by her loving son, Brad and her daughter-in-law Patti, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tennessee was her home for most of her life and she will be returned there to rest with her family in Gallatin, Tennessee.

God has called His angel home.
