Jane Thompson Price was born November 4, 1932 in Ruston, Louisiana. On May 18, 2019 Jane was called to her Heavenly home. Jane was preceded in death by her father Cornelius Thompson, mother Mittie May Bowman, stepfather Clem Elkins, as well as, her stepsister Dot Bawcom. Jane's beloved husband of over fifty years Frederick Henry Price, also of Ruston, Louisiana passed away in 2011.
Both strong patriots, Jane and Fred met while voting absentee. Jane was a retired schoolteacher of many years whose heart was always with her family, young children and church. Volunteering, playing piano and serving others were just a few ways of sharing her faith. She never met a stranger and even through her long journey with health issues she had a knack for making special connections with those around her. She never complained of her struggles as she spent the last number of years living at The Village of Gleannloch Farms. It was clear that she felt a close bond with all that cared for her there. Our family also wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their attentive care. She was loved well and by many. Jane's quick-wit and faithful loving spirit will be greatly missed by all. Our family is forever grateful to all her caregivers, family and friends.
Jane is survived by her beloved brother Dickie Thompson, spouse Melba and family, son Thomas Price and fiancée Laura Calhoun, daughter Amy Cleaveland and spouse Derryl, grandchildren Eric Cleaveland and spouse Jenna, Emily Benson and spouse Joel, along with her Great grandchildren Benjamin and Bryce Benson and Claire Cleaveland.
Funeral services for Jane will be held Wednesday, May 22, 1919 at 11:00 AM at Champion Forest Baptist Church with burial and graveside service to be in Ruston, Louisiana on Friday, May 24th at 10:00 AM.
