Obituary

She was raised in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Odessa High School. After graduating from Texas Western College, she briefly taught English before she met her husband of 54 years, Ralph Pettit, who preceded her in death.

She is also preceded in death by brother Jimmy Bowden and sister Jeannette Phillips. Sister Dorris Wendt survives. She was an enthusiastic mother and housewife, and was active in her church as a volunteer and in organizations such as the United Methodist Women and the Aggie Moms. She was an excellent bridge player, and she loved quilting, cooking, and watching football. She kept her mind sharp with a daily routine of the crossword puzzle and Jeopardy.
