Obituary

Jane Goings, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend died March 4, 2025.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she spent her early years.  She graduated from Mt. Assisi Academy and Duquesne University, where she earned a Bachelor and a Master Degree in Education.

She began her teaching career in the Pittsburgh Public School System.  Upon relocating to Houston, Texas, she taught in HISD and retired as principal of Oak Forest Elementary.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Goings, her sister and brother, her sons-in-law Jeffrey Silbert and Michael Brace and her husband of a previous marriage, William Jacobelli.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Silbert Holiman and Jayne Brace, son-in-law, Chip Holiman and grandsons, David Silbert and wife Elizabeth, and Jonathan Silbert and wife Michelle.  She is also survived by great-grandsons, Benjamin and John Silbert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Vigil service at 6:00pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, March 17, 2025 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd., Spring, TX 77379, to be immediately followed by a committal service in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
