James Edward (Jim) Yochim , 91, of Houston, Texas passed from this life on November 12, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1934 to Marian and Vincent Yochim in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Jim Yochim died on November 12, 2025. He was married to Dolores M. Laskowski of Erie, Pa. for 69 years. Mr. Yochim graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School (1948), Millcreek High School (1952) in Erie, and The Penn State University (1956, BS Engineering). He was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He joined the Gulf Oil Corp. after graduation at the Philadelphia Refinery. In 1957, he was drafted into the US Army and served at the Army Chemical Center at Edgewood, Maryland. He held numerous management positions within Gulf until his transfer to Center at Edgewood, Maryland. He held numerous management position within Gulf until his transfer to Chevron with the buyout in 1985. Again, at Chevron he served in a variety of management positions both in California and Texas.
He retired from the Chevron Corporation in 1996 after 40 years of service. He was a Charter Member of Council 8482 of The Knights of Columbus and a Life Member. He was also a 4th Degree Knight.
Jim and Dolores had 8 children, Beth Luke (Austin, Texas), Mark Yochim (Australia), Suzanne Yochim (deceased), Kathleen Krueger (Bryan, Texas), James Vincent Yochim (Conroe, Texas), Jennifer Barnes (Houston, Texas), Amy Brawley (Houston, Texas), and Patricia Yochim (Houston, Texas). They also have 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
He loved his Wife - Dolores, his 8 children, his 14 grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren and he loved God. He also loved The United States of America, The Pennsylvania State University and traditional country music.
