James Mont Workman, age 93 (or as he would say, going on 94) passed away on October 11, 2022 in Tomball, Texas.   He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His sense of humor and storytelling will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Born in Calhoun County, Iowa on June 11, 1929, Jim was raised and attended school in Minnesota.  He also proudly received an honorable discharge from the United States Army where he served as Corporal from 1951 to 1953 while stationed in Germany.

He worked in Minnesota, California, and in Texas where he retired from Unocal in 1986 after 33 years as Manager of Computer Operations in the Gulf Coast Region.

Jim and his wife then spent many wonderful retirement years back in Minnesota and Texas, as he enjoyed his time volunteering, hunting, fishing, making wine, and collecting knives and model cars.  He also loved serving his church throughout his life as he volunteered to count money, assist with bingo, and eventually became treasurer of the Trinity Klein Lutheran Men's Club for many years.  He was awarded Layman of the Year by the church.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Workman and Agnes Wohne Workman, his brothers John, Roger and Jerry, and a sister Wilma Workman Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margaret Rhea Workman, and seven children; Adrienne Schwan, Steven Gehlen and wife Angie, Stephen Workman and wife Lori, Diane Leeper, Lisa Stevenson and husband Danny, Danny Workman and wife Michelle, and Suzanne Martinez and husband Bob.  He is also survived by his sister Mary Gunnerson, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, James and his family have requested that donations be made to Trinity Klein Men's Club, which provides scholarships to students going into Ministry.  Checks may be made out to Trinity Klein Men's Club and mailed to Trinity at 5201 Spring Cypress Rd.   Spring, TX  77379
