Obituary

James Phillip Wisecarver was born in Morristown, Tennessee on May 24, 1941, and passed away in Houston, Texas on December 28, 2025.

James passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and family. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars and could often be found in the garage, restoring, fixing, or simply admiring them. His greatest joy, however, was time spent with his family and grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

He also carried a deep and enduring love for his wife—a love that never faded. As reflected in the words of one of his favorite songs, "He stopped loving her today," his love for her remained until the very end. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, patience, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Wisecarver; his son, Phillip Wisecarver; his parents, Minnis and Anna Mae Wisecarver; siblings, Vivian Steiger, Lillian Brooks, Gloria Jenkins, Raymond Wisecarver, Buddy Wisecarver  and son-in-law, Jeff Oleyar.

James is survived by his children, Steven Wisecarver and wife Camilla, Larry Taylor and wife Kim, Jodi Oleyar and Brian Taylor. Grandchildren: Abigail, Sarah, Evan, Kayla, Kyndal, Brendan, Rylee, Amber and Emily. Great grandchildren: Asher, Audrina and Pacey.
