James Larry Whitley, 85, of Houston, Texas has gone home to be with the Lord, November 10th 2023. Larry was born May 10th 1938, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late James Lothail Whitley and Wilma Corder.

Larry was a basketball star in high school . He later met his beautiful wife Patricia while working at Santa Fe Railroad in Galveston, Texas. He married Patricia at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January 24th 1959. While raising a family of four he traveled and worked in sales for General Motors. He was married 63 years. He was known by many as the sweetest and kindest man.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Whitley; Sister, Sharon Mosley; Son, James Larry Whitley Jr. And wife Crystal Whitley; Son Steven Michael Whitley Sr. and wife Tammy Whitley; Daughter, Suzanne Whitley Watkins; Daughter , Jennifer Whitley Shearer and husband Daniel Francis Shearer: twelve Grandchildren, sixteen Great-grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews

Funeral services will be held Friday November 17th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas with Deacon Al Prescott officiating.

A family graveside service will be held in private at a later date.
