James Edward Treichel, 85, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on February 2, 1941, in a small hospital in Waller, Texas, James was the son of Ewald and Edna Kalbow Treichel. He grew up with a strong appreciation for faith, family, and hard work—values that guided him throughout his life.

James was known for his kindness, unwavering work ethic, and deep devotion to those he loved. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend who found his greatest joy in spending time with family and creating lasting memories with those closest to him.

For most of his life, James was a dedicated cattle rancher who found great joy in working outdoors. Whether tending to his cattle, maintaining the pastures, or spending time in his workshop, he approached every task with pride and purpose. James graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1959; he then proudly served his country in the United States Army and devoted 38 years of service to General Electric. As a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, James' faith was a guiding force throughout his life and remained a steadfast foundation for him and his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Hildebrandt Treichel; his sons, Donald Treichel and wife Missy, and Calvin Treichel and wife Michelle; his grandchildren, Kacie Treichel Pesak and husband Daniel, Logan Treichel and wife Emily, Carson Treichel, and Madison Treichel; his brothers-in-law, Lester Hildebrandt and wife Elveira and Curtis Hildebrandt and wife Marjorie; his sister-in-law Clara Dean and husband Jack, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Edna Kalbow Treichel; his parents-in-law, Paul and Viola Hildebrandt; his brothers, Howard Treichel and wife Bonnie, and Marvin Treichel; and his brother in-law, Bruce Hildebrandt.

James will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle spirit, strong hands, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends. His quick wit, playful jokes, and ability to make others laugh will be remembered just as fondly as his kindness and generosity. His life was a testament to faith, hard work, and devotion to others, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation celebrating James's life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main, Tomball, Texas 77375.

Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 15235 Spring Cypress Road, Cypress, Texas 77429, on Friday, June 5, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, 19520 Lutheran Cemetery Road, Cypress, Texas 77433.
