Obituary

James Luther Thompson was born in Fayette County, West Virginia on January 19, 1943, and passed away in Tomball, Texas on December 5, 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Cynthia Schwaiger Thompson; his daughter Holly Thompson and her partner Steve Hoffman; grandchildren, Cheyenne LaMarch, Noah LaMarch, and Alivia Hoffman; and his sisters, Phyllis Radzom, Janice Posa, Donna Beck, and Judy Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Bertha Thompson.

James was the oldest of 5 children and came from a very musical family. He met the love of his life Cindy, while she working in the record department at Woolworth's.

He loved playing the guitar and even played at local bars as part of a band. James was just a good ole' boy who was very diplomatic, confident and sure of himself and had a way about him that made others feel confident about themselves as well. He also had a very calming effect on others just by being with them. James was an amazing person who was hospitable and always willing to help others in need.

James worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as a director in the IT department for 37 years until he retired in 2005.

James' favorite hobby was working with the Model Railroad. He loved his music and guitar, but  most of all, he loved playing with his grandchildren. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and was loved in return by him.

A funeral service for James will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375.
