James Jerral (Jerry) Taylor completed his life's journey on December 7, 2016. Surrounded by his beloved wife, friends, and his priest, Jerry went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In life, he was constrained by physical limitations, but he is now free to breathe, run and fly with the angels.

He was a member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, where he was confirmed in 2011. A faithful member, he loved the priests, Father Rob Price and Father Randall Trego, and valued their friendship, their service to the Lord and their preaching and teaching.

Jerry was born in Palestine, Texas, January 8, 1938, to the late Jerral and Becky Taylor. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a degree in business and his professional career was spent as a Certified Public Accountant in San Antonio, Kerrville, New Braunfels, and Spring, Texas.  He and his wife raised their children in Kerrville, Texas, and he was very involved in Boy Scouting and band activities as Jerral, James and Judi grew up.  He was so proud of his children, born as premature triplets, who grew to be accomplished, successful adults who served their families and their communities.

In 2010, he and Frances Richards Mallow met, and married in 2011. They had known each other and grown up together in Eagle Pass, Texas, where they both graduated from high school.  They did not see each other for over 50 years, but soon after meeting again, they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, however long that might be.   They both loved to tell their story.  Besides his love for Frances, he also loved airplanes and cars!  He was a 30 year member of the Commemorative Air Force, where he lovingly helped restore and fly a WWII B-25.  One of his last purchases was a 1949 Buick, bought in Clarendon, Texas, while on a trip to Colorado Springs to see Frances' grandson play football for the Air Force Academy.  He and Frances had planned to drive around in that old Buick and have fun.  He was always planning a trip or an event for the two of them to enjoy.  Both he and Frances were also very involved in the planning of the Hope Center, a day center for the homeless in the FM 1960 area started by parishioners of St. Dunstan's.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Frances Taylor; his sons Jerral Taylor and James Taylor and wives Diane and Jessica; his daughter Judi Whitis and husband David; and grandchildren Laura Taylor and Stephen and Fiona Taylor.  He will also be missed by his extended family of cousins and Frances' family, Peggy and Oscar Sinclair, Sam and Sarah Mallow, and grandchildren Miles and Jesse Washington, Carolyn and Nick Donaldson, Katie and Jacob Mallow, and Joann Sinclair.  His sweet Sheltie dog, Sassy, will be searching for him the rest of her life.

A memorial service will be held at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, December 13, at 1:00, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. His ashes will be placed in the columbarium at St. Dunstan's at a later date.
