James Barton Tabor
March 31, 1964 - April 30, 2023
James, 59, of Weatherford passed away April 30, 2023 around 4 o'clock in the evening as a result of a major heart attack. His family was by his side before and after his passing at St. Luke's Hospital in the Medical Center of Downtown Houston. He was born to Carolyn Rae Tabor and James Bobby Tabor in Weatherford, Oklahoma on March 31, 1964 with his twin brother, Bobby Clark Tabor. James moved to Houston, Texas with his family at a young age, attending Aldine I.S.D, and, later, followed his father's footsteps by working with the FAA once he turned 18. He worked with the FAA until his final days, working over forty years to support his family and the people he cared about.
James's greatest love was science and creating new things. Since he was a child, he always invented devices to play with his twin brother, and many times got into a lot of mischief because of him and his brother's crazy, fun ideas. His mischievous attitude made everyone around him smile (and in trouble). As they got older, James and Bobby would send each other jokes through text messages or spend hours on the phone talking with each other during the nights. He was the best brother to Bobby, and the best brother anyone could ask for.
He married his wife, Sara Enriqueta Portugal, of Arequipa, Peru, back in 1992, and even if there were bumpy roads, James made sure that his wife and her family were taken care of when they came to the United States. He and Sara became parents in the year 1998 when their child, Rebecca Tabor, was born. James was the kind of father who made sure his child was happy, settled, and supported in many ways to have them live comfortably and happy. James was a family man, so he always made sure to check up on his family.
James was loved by his forever-growing and large family. Everyone remembered him to be a man with a big heart that helped everyone, even if the goings were tough. He spent his time doing barbeques, preparing the pool, and preparing drinks when his family came to visit. He had a hilarious tradition that if you drink a Hurricane during these outings, it will prevent bad hurricanes. He was a professional at Dad Jokes and cheesy puns. And, he was always cracking jokes to make sure his family was comforted if they were having upside down days. He was always lending a helping hand, at home or with the family.
He lost his father, Bob Tabor, in August of 2022. However, James is survived by his mother, Carolyn Rae Tabor, and his twin brother, Bobby Clark Tabor. He's also survived by his cousin, Susan, on his mother's side. He is also survived by his wife, Sara Tabor of Arequipa, Peru and his daughter, Rebecca Tabor of Houston,Texas.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Klein Funeral Homes and Memorial Parks in Spring, Texas. The funeral will be held at 5 PM to 8 PM on May 5th, 2023 at the funeral home. James Tabor will be cremated and kept with Sara and Rebecca Tabor at their homes in remembrance of James Tabor's passing.
