James Albert Stucker III of Tomball TX was born on February 23rd, 1944, in New Albany, IN. He was a graduate of North Central High in Ramsey IN, and Purdue University. He married his devoted wife Minnie in 2002.

Jim was a man who held friendships and family above himself. His humble beginnings shaped his values, humility, and sense of humor. Jim dedicated himself to those who knew him; and committed his career to the safety of millions of airline travelers.

Jim's lifetime of aviation careers began as an instructor at Purdue University Airport. His profession took him to Los Angeles with American Airlines as a Mechanic, to Chicago with Continental Airlines as a Regional Manager of Maintenance, to Houston as Director of Maintenance, Widebody Maintenance Controller and finally to Maintenance Training as a Boeing 777 Instructor.

These years in aviation were rewarded in him being named a recipient of the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award in 2013. This award recognizes a lifetime of accomplishments of aviation mechanics having 50 years or more of maintenance experience and perfect safety record.

In addition to his love of aviation, he was an avid motorcyclist, enjoying rallies across the country on his Hondas and Harleys. He also had a love of muscle cars, restoring many and collecting a few along the way — a real shade tree mechanic.

Over the years, Jim enjoyed ham radios as well as handguns, attending shows nearly weekly. For many years he coached the championship Genoa Komets traveling softball team with his daughter Lori pitching. He also spent time with his son Brian tinkering with electronics and often went to car shows together. He and Minnie loved RVing throughout the country and taking long drives, enjoying where the road took them.

Jim is survived by his wife Minnie; two children and their spouses Brian Stucker and his wife Jennifer, and Lori Slavenas and her husband Eric; and four grandchildren Katrina, Mikhail, Daniel, and Andrew.
